My niece just turned 5 and her birthday gift was a trip to Disney and it got me to thinking back about my first visit. You never forget your first visit to Disney and mine was over the top for me. It was the summer of 1976 and Disney World was decked out in celebration of our country's 200th birthday. I still remember Mickey wearing colonial wear and dancing along in the street parade. It was a time I will never ever forget. The excitement was unbridled as my cousin and I discovered the park with our Moms. The rides that I have a strong memory of from that visit are still burned into my memory. From It's A Small Worlds catchy tune and bright cute colorful little faces to the spooky Haunted House which scared the life out of me, and of course I can never forget Space Mountain.
It truly was a magical Yankee Doodle Disney of a time and one my family will never forget.
Happy Wednesday all!
