I remember my cousin using this to talk in code with her friends and siblings so others had no clue what was being said. She got so good at it that it rolled off her tongue like her first language. She recently told me she still uses it to this day when she and her sister are out and need to talk with no one understanding them. They are actually that good and that speedy at speaking Pig Latin. It literally sounds like a foriegn language.
Now here is the kicker. If you have kids ask them if they've ever heard of Pig Latin. Chances are they will come back with the most bewildered look. Well at least that's what I got. My kids had never heard of it. Yet when I was their age I was trying my hand at Pig Latin with my friends.
If you would like to learn or would like to teach it to your kids try hitting this site Learning Pig Latin to get all the deets. And if you really feel like taking it up a notch try learning Gibberish. That one seems way more complicated than Pig Latin.
I hope this post makes you think back and remember good times and I also hope it spurs you to connect with you little's and teach them a thing or two about an earlier generations entertainment that existed outside of a device. LOL
Have a beautiful Wednesday all and Happy I Remember WHENsday!
