Growing up as a kid I spent a ton of time with my Dad in his woodshop. I can't even tell you how much awesome wood work came out of that shop. Picnic tables, plant stands, desks, cabinets you name it he was making it and most often I was in there watching or assisting. I loved it. I remember asking my Dad if he would make me a wooden crayon box for school. Yes, even then I had my priorities. Ha! he ended up making one for me and I was so proud of it. I still have it to this day. Actually not long ago I mentioned it to my Dad and he was shocked that I still had it. I still cant believe he was shocked. I would never toss something out that my Dad made me. It was perfect then and is perfect now. Just like my Dad.
Any how working in the shop was the perfect time to learn and to spend time with my Dad. I learned the names of a ton of tools and how to use many of them. Even today I have a love of wood working. Although I'm not great at it by any means I do love it and have much appreciation for those who have the gift.
