Every year when I was a little girl my Grandma and I would make Christmas cookies. She had an amazing set of cookies cutters and we would spend the day baking and decorating cookies. It was always so hard to wait for them to cool so we could ice them and sometimes a few would disappear before they cooled.
The best part about making Christmas cookies with my Grandma wasn't the cookies. It was the time spent with her that meant the most. Baking together was special. A lot of love was shared in her kitchen. This is why I love to bake with my kids today. It builds strong bonds and the memories hold strong.
I had so much fun drawing today's I Remember WHENsdsay and for a brief moment I was transported back to my Grandmas kitchen and I swear I could taste the cookies. Memories are amazing.
Hope you have a beautiful day today and find time to treat yourself to a sweet holiday treat.
What holiday baking did you do with your family as a kid? Do you carry on that tradition today?
